Dearest Gena

It is a joy to hear from you and all the great things you are doing. When I met you I was often travaling down to Sydney because of my sick friend. Well she and her beloved family moved south to a small town on the boader of New South Wale and Victoria called Albury. The is where her twin sister lives. Ans so there is suport. But she has been very sick again. So I travel to see her and then took the two little girls to stay. This was a delight as The girls where just lovely.
I am also repainting 1 of my 3 rental flats. So I am keeping out of trouble. The gardens are a most adnormal colour of green, as of the xmass we have 5 wonderfull days of good gentle rain. This has soaked in and brought the normaly golden land to life. Much of Australia is still very dry. But my part is looking so very rich..

With my son Adams wedding We have very little to do with the planning. We are only there to help if asked. In many ways I hope they marry in USA as this is the brides land. I feel that this tradion is a very good one as so often it is the bride who leaves home. But I say little and smile and try to be supportive. Wedding are of little importance to me. It is the relatinship that is the important thing. I am happ that they do marry as this shows that they hope to do the best.
I am pushing them to do a couples or relationship training as they often fight and I feel that it may be helpful to learn more skills. As they are planing children soon. I know that young children are alot of lovely work and that it good to have as many skills as you can. Too many lovely people end up braking up. But they are wise and loving and I am very happy for them.

Beside sweet friend if they do marry in y
our state I willl try to see her my beloved friend as I would love to teast a glass of your  scrumptious work. LOL nicki

Hi Nicki, The days still seem very short as the sun does not rise until almost 7:30 am and set just after 5 pm. Big storms this week with thunder and hail but it is very welcome. I hope the drought is really over. We'll see. The vines are totally asleep and I do not expect for them to awaken for several months. Just finished our blending for the 2008 vintage. Most will be bottled in late june but our 100% Malbec will be bottled next month. It is the first of its type we have made and it was best without blending, so .... thus the 100%. 2008 produced lighter wines but they are still very scrumptious. It was great to hear from you. How are the wedding plans shaping up?

Hugs, Gena

Dear est Gena I see you passed by. I think you are still very busy with your wine. Here the last part of Eugenie's exams start to morrow. This the beginning of the end. within a month it will all be over.  Thank goodness I think our year 12 is hell for young people. I hate it. There too much pressure on these fine young people. Well my dear friend I am thinking of you and the wonderful work you do. Did I tell you Adam is planing to marry a woman for your part of the states? They have set the date 10/10/2010. Who know we may have to travel to the state. This would be fun. LOL nicki

As the Autumn gears up into full swing and Winter looms behind that oak tree, the transition between a light pale ale under a brazen sun and heavy, malty warm portery ale has been engaged. Does anyone know of a good pub with beams, a fire, a folk band, good ales, buxom bar girls, strange landlords and a storm outside?

Hi George, What would you like to know about grape growing? A very small paperback by an author named Cox is quite good. It gives general information about cultivating as well as wine making. I believe the most important decision is the type of grape that you chose is well suited to your land and climate. I grow the Bordeaux varieties as I am in a hot days and cool nights. A climate in which they thrive. I am in Calistoga at the norhtern end of the Napa Valley in California. What part of New York State are you located?

Nicki's friend, Gena
