Dear Orangelay, Thank you very muck for the comment. Do you know of a book From the land of the green Ghost? Pascal Khoo Thwe tells the story of his transition from a traditional life as a member of the Padaung people in a remote corner of Burma to being the first Burmese tribesman to take an English degree from Cambridge University. He describes his attempts to enter the Catholic priesthood, studies of English literature as a young student in Mandalay, his politicisation against the murderous SLORC regime, his dangerous life as a resistance fighter in the jungle, and his escape through Thailand to the United Kingdom. This book won the 2002 Kiriyama Prize, for books that foster greater mutual understanding of and between the races and nations of South Asia and the Pacific Rim. I heard this story read on our radio. I found Pascal Khoo Thwe was so interesting and the way he changed his mind was very breave. As He had started to be Catholic priest and then charnged his mind. But it was good to hear a book from your lovel country. Kindest regards nicki
