Thanks for the comment about the car.  I have worked very hard on it over the past 6 years and it has finally turned out like I wanted it to.  I have not been here to converse much as my daughter blew up my computer so have been checking in as best I can here.  I finally got another computer and will be able to be online here more often.  Hope to hear from you soon.  Cool profile Dan!  Talk to you later!

I own a small machine shop which specializes in tool and die build &  small machine build (coping, punching, etc.).  My customers are very diverse which helps keep business in the doors and busy but sometimes busy does not equate to profitable.  You have to have many more of the smaller jobs to make up for the bigger ones and they cost us more to do.  I have a journeyman toolmaker who is excellent at what he does, so I basically let him evaluate the RFQs coming in to determine whether or not to accept the job.  Very rarely do I turn work away and when I do, it's usually due to my inhouse machine capability.

In which kind of manufacturing ? Business with US is always difficult, for me too, but now with USD low, there is some good opportunities. Problem is they are not always open to doing buisiness on a small scale.


Weather is hot and heavy. I'm affraid there will again be some thunderstorm tonight.

I hear you there....I'm in manufacturing and right now with the US economy, I find my business slowing down quite a bit.  Makes me work a lot harder doing the marketing so at least I'm keeping my skills up all across the board. 

What's the weather like in Switzerland?  Today it will be hot and humid for me.
